KlezKanada is an international leader in the world of Jewish music and Yiddish culture, and this year we are very excited to announce that, for the first time ever, we are able to offer American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for a small section of our online programming.
This year, as part of our on-going commitment to increase accessibility and embrace the diversity in our community, ASL interpretation will be available for our highly popular lectures by Michael Wex.
Wex is a long-time faculty member, a world-renowned expert on the Yiddish language, and best-selling author of Born to Kvetch among many other books. As part of our 2021 virtual retreat, he will present a show-stopping four part lecture series: Yiddish Idioms and What To Do with Them. Join us for this unique chance to explore the world of Yiddish idioms in depth.

Come to one, or come to them all!
ONLINE; Tuesday-Friday, August 24-27, 2:00-3:15 PM ET.
These lectures will have interpretation into American Sign Language (ASL). Please note that we are not yet able to offer ASL interpretation or human-generated live captioning for our other programming this summer. We are working on making this possible for the future!
FINANCIAL ACCESSIBILITY
During these difficult times, we never want a lack of funds to be a barrier to participation. To make our programs as accessible as possible during these times, we have also set aside a limited number of free or pay-what-you-can registrations at every level, designated for those with financial hardship or who come from communities traditionally underrepresented at our programs. These registrations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please write to us directly at info@klezkanada.org for more information.
